Description

NHASP and NHSBA are excited to cohost an overview of the Omnibus House Bill 1558 (Student Safety and Non-Violence Prevention Law) from the 2020 legislative session on May 12th, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

During this session, we will focus on the aspects of this bill which make stricter requirements for school suspensions and expulsions, requirements for school safety programs to contain a plan for responding to violent acts, and references the importance of having multi-tiered systems of support for behavior within your school buildings and district.

This session will review the relevant sections of the bill itself, review district policy implications, and provide best practice strategies for responses, supports and procedures around positive behavioral interventions, building level systems planning, documentation, and communication with your school community around MTSS-B.
